Just before global recognition
The designation of a Biosphere Reserve is a process through which an area is recognized and protected as part of UNESCO’s World Network of Biosphere Reserves. The aim is to promote sustainable development while preserving the area’s biodiversity and cultural heritage.
The process involves submitting a nomination dossier, evaluation by UNESCO, and upon approval, official recognition of the area as a Biosphere Reserve.
A key step in preparing the nomination is public engagement and consultation. Each of us can support this effort, contributing to the global recognition and promotion of the region.
